Sequin Denim Development: Clarifying Materials and Chain Details Before Sampling

A customer developing two denim styles with sequin and chain details needed to confirm which materials and trims could be used for sampling.

The development involved several decisions: the sequin-fabric composition, the chain specification and the colour to be reviewed on the physical sample.

The details that needed clarification

The requested chain specification was approximately 2.5 mm. The available alternative we identified measured 2.43 mm, so this difference needed to be presented for customer review.

For the sequin fabric, we recommended a composition of 95% polyester and 5% spandex. The proposed material composition and the finished visual result were treated as separate approval points.

How TANTYDENIM coordinated the review

We brought the material and trim questions together so the customer could review each decision clearly:

  • The proposed sequin-fabric composition.
  • The requested chain size and available alternative.
  • The colour and appearance that would need checking through physical sampling.

This gave the customer specific choices to consider before the sample requirements were finalised.

Connector dimensions were also recorded during trim sourcing. The photographs below show these checks as separate review points.

The confirmed progress

The customer accepted the proposed 95% polyester and 5% spandex composition for the sequin fabric.

That acceptance established the material direction for this part of the development. Chain selection, finished colour and overall garment approval each require their own confirmation.
