Women’s Light-Wash Wide-Leg Jeans Development Case
WOMEN’S DENIM DEVELOPMENT EXAMPLE
Women’s Light-Wash Wide-Leg Jeans Development Case
This page documents a development example from the production images published here. It is meant to show what can be reviewed on a finished light-wash wide-leg jean, not to present a customer identity or confidential order.
The visible direction is straightforward: a high-rise waist, relaxed wide leg, five-pocket construction, light-blue wash, contrast topstitching and standard jeans closures. The useful part is not the style label. It is seeing how fit, wash, construction and finishing have to agree on the same garment.
Read the garment as one finished sample
A wide-leg jean should not be approved by looking at the waist, wash and pockets separately. The high-rise waistband changes how the hip sits. The hip and thigh volume affect the leg line. Washing can change shrinkage, handfeel and seam appearance. Pocket position can look right on a flat garment and still feel wrong once the silhouette is worn.
On this type of product, the main visible review points are the waistband position, waist and hip balance, wide-leg proportion, front and back pocket placement, button-and-fly closure, topstitching, wash direction and overall presentation after finishing.
The washed sample is the useful approval reference
A photo can communicate a general colour direction, but lighting and screens can shift the way a light-blue wash looks. The physical washed sample gives the stronger reference for shade, fading, contrast, handfeel and finished measurements.
That is also the point where shrinkage should already be visible. Finished measurements can then be checked against the approved specification instead of relying on the unwashed garment.
For the wash side of the process, see our denim wash development and approval guide.
Fit review starts at the intended wearing position
The waistband, rise, hip, thigh, inseam and leg opening need to create the same silhouette when the jean is worn. A materially different fabric or wash can change that balance enough to justify another fit review.
Our fit sample and size-set approval guide explains how to keep measurements, fit comments and sample versions aligned.
What a buyer should send for a similar development
A useful starting brief can be simple, but it should identify the decisions that matter to the first sample.
- Reference image, tech pack or existing garment
- Target customer and market
- Rise and intended wearing position
- Waist, hip, inseam and leg-opening direction
- Fabric composition, weight and handfeel preference
- Wash reference and the details that must be matched
- Pocket and construction requirements
- Buttons, rivets, labels and branding requirements
- Size range and expected quantity
- Required development timing
TANTYDENIM’s Standard MOQ is 50 pcs per style and colour. Trial orders from 30 pcs per style and colour may be reviewed subject to fabric availability, wash, trims, construction and size breakdown. Mixed sizes are available; the final workable quantity is confirmed for the project. Sampling timing depends on product complexity, material availability, wash requirements and revision rounds; the schedule is confirmed after the relevant product information is reviewed.
Buyer FAQ: Light-Wash Wide-Leg Jeans Development
Can the rise and wide-leg silhouette be customised?
Yes. The waistband position, rise, waist and hip fit, thigh volume, inseam and leg opening can be developed around the intended silhouette.
Can the light-blue wash be adjusted?
Yes. Shade, fading placement, contrast, abrasion and handfeel can be reviewed during wash development before bulk approval.
Should finished measurements be checked after washing?
Yes. Washing and finishing can affect shrinkage and finished garment measurements, so the approved washed sample should be measured against the specification.
Can the buttons, labels and packaging be customised?
